Its easier said than done when a company states a claim to their green products. CFP Cladding & Decking decided to put their words into action by joining the Canada Green Building Council in August this year. The CaGBC mission statement reads, “Lead and accelerate the transformation to high-performing, healthy green buildings, homes and communities throughout Canada, which is exactly why CFP wanted to participate and  be actively engaged in the process of helping provide healthier and longer term sustainable housing for future generations to enjoy and benefit from.

The company joined the CaGBC as a Advocate member, a category dedicated to organizations that actively support the green building industry and want to demonstrate their commitment through CaGBC membership. Advocates have direct access to benefits that help them demonstrate their support of the industry and enable them to meet their corporate social responsibility goals.

CFP Cladding & Decking products are FSC certified and the company maintains strict supply standards to ensure it’s standards are not compromised. FSC certification does not come easily. FSC is the only forest certification system that qualifies under the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building rating system. The product must carry a FSC claim which is either FSC Mixed, FSC Recycled or FSC Pure. CFP Cladding & Decking products are FSC Mixed.
