Lunch and Learns with Professional Specifiers help them understand thermally modified wood.

Like any product in the construction marketplace it needs to be properly explained so the product can have the opportunity to be specified into construction projects. Thermally modified wood is no different and when the opportunity presents itself CFP Cladding & Decking staff are more than happy to provide learning seminars with the professional specifiers.

On a recent trip through California we were asked to do a seminar with ADA Architectural Design Collaborative in Costa Mesa. The company is a full service planning and architectural firm specializing in Retail, Commercial, and Residential projects. I decided to take in the session to learn more about thermally modified wood and get the reactions of the numerous architects that were in the room. This session instructor was Jacob Baranski from CFP Cladding & Decking. Various topics were touched on which sparked up some great conversation between the architects and the instructor.

Some of the conversations that are often discussed about thermally modified wood decking and siding relate to the species:
Beauty
¨Real wood = Irreplaceable beauty and warmth
¨Clear Face (no knots on Top Face for a clean look).
¨Amazing Colour and Grain unlike any other product.
Durability
¨25+ Year Lifespan.  Durability class 1.
¨Rot, Mold & Insect infestation prevented due to low moisture content and lack of food source.
¨Technologically Processed to insure quality. Results not left to chance or nature.

 “Flat and Straight
“Moves 90% less than natural woods to maintain a professional installation  year after year.
¨End Matching ensures a flat transition from one board to another.
